"Exploring Toronto Islands: A Perfect Day Out"

To get to the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, we first used the subway and then the streetcar. The distance across the island from Ward's Island to Hanlan's Point is around 5 kilometres which are the two extremes of islands. The Toronto Islands are a group of fifteen separate islands in Lake Ontario, located not far from Toronto's downtown. Although it did rain a little bit on the day, the weather was generally ideal for being outside. We chose to travel to the ward's island first after taking the ferry. The lake Ontario's water was breathtakingly blue.

My worries were all blown away by the wind at once. We quickly looked over the map to find all the activities after arriving at the island. While enjoying our snacks, we strolled along the beach. We walked by the residential neighborhood and peered at the gorgeous homes there. Additionally, I ran onto a large, ancient tree trunk that reminded me completely of the Hobbit world shown in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Afterwards, we made the decision to travel to the central island and cycle around it. We strolled for over two kilometres to get to the main island. While traveling, we took in the stunning scenery, which included trees covered in layers of lichen and tiny white flowers. It looked quite lovely because there were tiny bridges crossing rivers.

After chatting and listening to music, we arrived at the center islands. Here, we were able to rent both single and four-person cycles. Riding a bicycle around the island was enjoyable.

Since I was a young child, bicycling has always been my favorite activity. We went to a beach and observed the lovely sand, waves, and seagulls. I once noticed a swan close to the coast swimming with a large number of ducks.

We continued riding towards the Gibraltar Point lighthouse. It is the oldest lighthouse on the Great Lake which is a series of lakes that connect North America to the Atlantic Ocean. It is said that the lighthouse is haunted by its first keeper John Paul Radelmuller who was murdered in 1815 The light building radiated a feeling of history with its vivid colors. We laughed, sang, and talked as we rode along and took a few photos. We were sandwiched by broad canopies and lofty forests. I saw vibrant scenery and flowers along the route. The waters of Lake Ontario and the CN tower were visible from the island, as well as downtown.

Afterwards, we arrived close to Billy Bishop Airport, from which we had a good view of planes taking off into the distance. We also observed the Ned Hanlan Tugboat positioned near the beach. It is a museum ship that is steam-powered. There was a rainbow-colored road leading to another beach, signifying the month of Pride.

I had a great time riding across the rainbow route. Other activities included partying on Lake Ontario voyages, camping, and river kayaking. I also observed a sequence of flags that featured the national flag, followed by the flags of various territories while waiting for the ferry to take us back. We rode the enormous ferry back to downtown as the day drew to a close.

The islands are a great spot to hang out, have a picnic, and engage in different activities. A whole day is needed to explore the island and take the opportunity to relax.

Until next time, stay happy and stay safe.
